He is so pretty! Very happy, thank you for letting us adopt him he will be very loved. I have bought quite a few dogs. I have been doing this a long time. Trial and error of course and I am so pleased, he is clean, love the puppy packet. In my experience the big breeders charge an arm and a leg and you never know what you are going to get. I appreciate everything you have done. If I get any emails I will pass them on to you. ~ Jerilynn, (Krispy/Raygun 2014)
Hi Marla!
A little update: took Spyro (boys picked this name) to a vet today: everything looks good, they really praised you on deworming! Next set of shots will be in 7-10 days.
The puppy is absolutely awesome: intelligent, good natured, sweet and has a wonderfully balanced personality. Boys are taking a very good care of him while I am at work, and I can tell honestly, he is loved wholeheartedly!
He is super curious about living in the city: cars, people, voices from open windows, all seems so new to him and he is taking it all in very fast. He is walking on a leash pretty good! We are training him to go outside and he has had only one accident so far, which is pretty amazing! (Krispy/ Raygun 2014)
**Hi Marla, This is Teresa. Thought I’d update you on how the little dog I adopted is doing. We named her Ann. She has only had two house training accidents! She has already started using the bells I set up on the door. She slept through the night without crying last night and she is getting pretty good at walking on a leash. She is SMART! She is quickly stealing both my husband and my heart, and all my neighbors keep asking me where I found such a wonderful puppy! Teresa , (Krispy/Raygun 2014)
**Grooming day! "Bravo" finally got put in a Poodle clip. Now I won't get stopped everywhere with people asking "what kind of dog is that?" He is no longer a shaggy poodle.
He was such a good boy for me on the grooming table. We just adore him Marla Motteshard! We are going through obedience class with him and he is a shining star. He is SO SMART.
I believe it's important to know as much about the puppy you are getting as possible, On This page you will find pictures of puppies born in our home and what their owners say about them. That way you don't have to take my word for it, you can see what others say about personalities, train-ability, brains and health! And you can see for yourself what the colors look like as the puppies get older. with later litters I have tried to included a litter picture and labels so you can see how they change,. Receiving updates from puppies' owners makes my day and I love to share them, but I also love to receive them so that I can improve my breeding and my knowledge. Thank you to all those who help with this! ~ Marla, Nothing Better Than Standard Poodles
These maps show where our puppies are located , most are sold locally but some have been shipped across the country and some even across the world! (click to enlarge)

I will send you a picture with Jayden soon sorry he has been very ill and has taken up a lot of time. Thank you again so so much. ~ Stacy Scott (Krispy/Raygun 2014) This Puppy was purchased to be an allergy alert dog :)

She is a much loved family member, and now the big sister to one of Cookies puppies
**Tosh was so well socialized, best I've received. You can tell your kids they did good, and he is a beloved member of a large family... He is also a kong ball crazy teenager. He is loved. ~ Jen
Ellie "is a fabulous puppy and I love her so much... She is precious." Krispy Andre 2015
I have a 8 month old puppy from Marla. Hands down best socialized puppy I've ever had. He is great with everyone & easiest add to our busy house. If you are thinking of a puppy. This is where to get him!~Elizabeth, Cookies' and Smokey's Nov 2016 litter
Tomorrow our boy turns 1. We got few new toys to destroy and Frosty Paws ice cream for dogs. He has brought a lot of happiness to our house since he moved to MN. Thank you so much for breeding such amazing dogs. We love him hard. The next test is how is he going to deal with the Christmas tree. He may be 1, but he’s still all puppy.

Reece is one of the calmest poodles I have seen. Even as a young puppy she was never overly hyper or energetic. From day one she was my son’s shadow. She has literally never jumped up on any of my children. She didn’t have to be taught to be careful she seemed to just know. She is not dominating and doesn’t have a mean bone in her body.
Reece is a sweet, goofy, energetic girl. She loves kids and other dogs. She is intelligent and alert. She is willing to please and needs a job to do. She is great with agility and obedience. She is always there when you need a companion. She is 65 pounds and 24'.
We tested her with OFA on hips and Elbows. She passed hips:Excellent and elbows:Normal. We did her DNA testing with Paw prints genetics. She is clear on GM2 Gangliosidosis, clear on Degenerative Myelopathy, clear on Progressive Retinal Atrophy, clear on Progressive Rod-Cone Degeneration, clear on Osteochondrodysplasia, and clear on Von Willebrand Disease.

When Jack was first born his rust was a lighter color, as he got older his rust turned a deep dark rust and rust spots came in on his legs. He has a rare dark rust color on his brows, checks, legs, and back-end and his black is jet black. Instead of getting lighter with age his coat is getting darker and we love it! He is one of the calmest poodles I have seen. Even as a young puppy he was never overly hyper or energetic. He is not dominating and doesn’t have a mean bone in his body. He gets along with all the other dogs even my mini poodles that think they are big and tough. He will let them think they are big and tough and just walk away. He is the peacemaker in the family.
I could go on and on about how much I love this dog. I don’t think it gets much better than him. He is the perfect example of what a poodle should be
Hips: PennHip above 90% Elbows: Normal PenHIp: Above 90% Genetic testing done with Paw-Prints genetics. Clear

He still has the most beautiful green eyes and expressive face. He likes to eat, bark, bug his poodle brothers, play with the cats, chase and steal balls, do the zoomies, snuggle and be loved on. He is super smart and super sensitive. He is a fast learner. He would benefit from some kind of training like learning obstacle course (not sure what it's called?) - I think he'd be a natural. I love my Maybarry who is still also a little bit (a lot!) Monster Truck!
Bo or Little Buddy, his nickname, is awesome. He is the sweetest, lovable boy. He loves his big brother, Olie who is 8. His cutest habits are when we get ready to go hiking, he barks and talks and chews Olie's neck. Every day he comes and lays his head in my lap and loves to cuddle. His hair is super soft and not a real tight knit curly like our other poodles. I actually prefer it. He is easy to train, sensitive and he likes to talk/bark which might be his worst hbit but the sight of the water squirt bottle solves that problem. The only other naughty thing he has done is digging. All our poodles have done this during the first year or two but he still occasionally will dig....(he is consistent with the spot, though....lol). His colors have been consistent!
We just love him and are so glad he is a part of our family.

Marla,
Here is most recent picture of our Pumpkin aka Sun Flower born 6/26/2019.
He is just under 23" inches at the shoulder now at 6 months. He will graduate from Puppy Kindergarten next Tuesday the 17th of December.
He's signed up for the next 5 week session labeled Puppy Star program beginning January 7, 2020.
Here's a funny story about how clever he is. He knows he is not allowed to be up in my rocking recliner in the living room. One after noon James and I were walking down the hallway from the other end of the house......Pumpkin obviously heard us coming. When we reached the living room he was just coming out of his kennel with the expression "Hi Mom, Hi Dad" on his face. Out of the corner of my eye I see my chair ever so slightly rocking. He obviously jumped down knowing he's not supposed to be up in my chair and decided coming out of his kennel was a good option. Clever? Sneaky? Yes to both.
He is a wonderful dog. He will without a doubt reach the needed height of 24" I need for service dog work. Who knows he may reach his Sire's height of 26.5". ~Janis
Coco "Hershey coco" has been a dream. She is such a well balanced dog. She is great our family, with strangers, with other dogs. She loves being outside (the snow, we have to bribe her to come in) and she loves cuddles. She is the perfect fit for our family.
~Jaime (Cookies/Smokey 2016)
We purchased wile e coyote from her recent "Better than looney toons" litter as a service dog prospect and I can't begin to describe how exceptional her program is. Wile (now Joel) has been home less than a month and he's blown our expectations out of the water! He's calm, even tempered, fearless, and already outsmarting us.
Last night was a great indication we will have a fantastic working career together. I have a neurological condition that causes temperature deregulation and cardiac issues that result in fainting. We were walking through our apartment compound in a frigid downpour when my heart rate spiked suddenly and I fainted. My heart rate was dangerously high, and my body temperature was extremely low. He laid down next to me in a puddle and kept me warm. When I woke up I was panicked and disoriented. All the buildings in our area look identical, I had no idea where we were, or what direction our building was in. He calmly helped me regain my bearings and lead me straight home. By that time my husband was looking for us and Joel took me straight to him. I barely made it inside before losing consciousness for a second time. Besides some bruising, the paramedics said with a few days rest I should be fine, but that he probably saved my life.
I can't recommend Marla Motteshard and Nothing Better than Standard Poodles enough! Without her pup I might not be here today, I don't want to think about how last night could have gone if I went to anyone else for my sweet Joel..
